Mr. Ensign had retired from the Bloomington real estate firm of Ensign and Philabaum in in March. 1948. after becoming ill in September, 1947.
Prior to entering the real estate business, 10 years ago, he had been cashier at the Hudson State bank for 27 years. Earlier he had been in the grain business at Long Point, Dana and later at Hudson.
He was born Feb. 6. 1874 at Long Point, a son of Robert H. and Sarah Ensign.
He married Miss Grayce Marshall at Dana.
Surviving are the wife; one son, Preston and one daughter. Mrs. Evelyn Daggitt; and one sister, Mary Weber.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Mahomed Shrine at Peoria. He was a member of the Shrine band and also a member of the Bloomington band.
He attended the Methodist church at Hudson.
