Joseph James Moorman, 64, died at the Columbia Hospital at 9:30 this morning from injuries he received in a fall last night.
Funeral services are to be conducted from the Trinity Episcopal Church at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Louis C. Melcher, rector. Interment is to be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Moorman was the son of the late Thomas S. Moorman and Marie Wardlaw Moorman. The family moved to Columbia in 1887 and Mr. Moorman attended in public schools here and the University of South Carolina. He also lived in New Orleans for about 14 years.
He was a certified public accountant and was licensed to practice in this state, Georgia and North Carolina.
He was married to Julie Heyward of Columbia, who died several years ago.
Mr. Moorman was a member of the Columbia Club, Columbia Cotillion Momus Club of New Orleans and Chi Phi college fraternity.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Mae Cutis of Augusta, Ga., three brothers, C. Wardlaw Moorman and Robert Moorman of Columbia, and Reuben S. C. Moorman of St. Cloud, Fla., also several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were to be, J. Waties Thomas, Arthur M. Griffin, John D. Bell, W. C. McGowen, Pinckney L. Cain, John C. Heslep, R. Beverley Sloan, N. Heyward Robb, Tucker B. Rion, Dr. T. T. Moore and James H. Fowles.
