Son of Walter Cleveland Haines and Mary Margaret Roberts.
Married Mildred Ziegler. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters Jeannine (John) Livesay and Carol (Gregg) Schumann; sons Kenneth Jr. (Sharon) , Bruce, Douglas (Donna), and Dudley Haines; sisters Dorothy Medley, Doris Burt; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Haines, sister Francis Dunlap and daughter-in-law, Ella Haines.

He was a graduate of Ohio State University where he was inducted into the Animal Science Hall of Fame. He was a farmer and member of Park City United Methodist Church and Kentucky Angus Association.

Services 2pm Thursday, October 10 at Patton Park City Chapel with Rev. Mark Benton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8pm and Thursday from 11am until time of service.
