Robert "Earl" Brockman, 69, Lebanon, died at 11:22 a.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon. Born August 23, 1935, in Marion County, Brockman was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: his parents, John Leslie & Ivy Ellis Thompson Brockman. Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Acree Brockman of Lebanon; a daughter, Michelle Purdom of Bradfordsville; two sons, Dr. Roger Brockman of Fishers, IN, and Robert Todd Brockman of Cold Springs; a sister, Emogene Farmer of Lebanon; and eight grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica, Alex & Meghan Brockman and Lauren, Nikki, Bethany & John Robert Purdom. A funeral service was held January 11 at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church with burial in New Market Cemetery. Rev. Victor Stansbury officiated. Active pallbearers were Darrell Shewmaker, John Henry Elliott, Dennis Wise, Johnny Brady, J.C. Buckman and Raymond Stearman. Honorary pallbearers were C.W. Farmer, Robert Craig, Haskell Cox, Billy Veatch, Robert Farmer, R.C. Hardesty and Danny Farmer. Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.
