Francis E. Hall, 53, lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday at the residence, 129 Summer Ave. NW. He was born here and at the time of his death resided in a house built in 1857 by his grandfather.
For many years he was a member of First Presbyterian church and was affiliated with its Sunday school. Since 1926 he had been a member of Westminster Presbyterian church.
He was a member of the Doric lodge No. 342, F&AM, and had served for eight years as captain of the second degree team. He was a past commander of Robert Finch camp of the Sons of Union Veterans and held the office of secretary at the time he died. He also was a member of the national committee for soldiers' grave sites in Michigan.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. B.A. Van Raalte; two sons, Robert and David of this city, and a niece, Mrs. Buell Harlow of Akron, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Rauchenberger mortuary. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
