Deceased Name: Lucille S. Gray

DAINGERFIELD - Lucille Sadver Gray, 91, formerly of Ranger, died Tuesday at home.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. today at St. Rita's Catholic Church. Officiating: the Rev. Dale Edwards. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials: St. Rita's Catholic Church in Ranger.
Mrs. Gray was born Aug. 19, 1905, in Lyra, near Strawn, to George and Mary Manick Sadver. She attended school there and later worked as a housekeeper. She later moved to Michigan, where she began working for a telephone company as an operator. She returned to Ranger, married Leon Brooks Gray and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as an operator. She retired as chief operator after 38 years' service in 1970.
She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Ranger and served on the Altar Society. She also enjoyed fishing, reading and cooking.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Brooks Gray, in 1973, and her son, Robert Gray, in 1993.
Survivors: Daughter, Shirley Gray of Daingerfield; three sisters, Mary Lovera of Strawn, Ann Shaffer of El Paso and Marjorie Janosek of Austin; two grandchildren, John Michael Gray of Olympia, Wash., and Carolyn Gray of Glendale, Calif.; and one great-grandson. Edwards Funeral Home
