Services Friday TYLER - J.B. Ward, 87, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in a Tyler hospital after a short illness. J.B. Ward was born Sept. 11, 1915, on Henderson Branch, Ingram, the son of William and Lizzie Masters Ward. During some of the Depression years, he served in the CCC, with most of that time working in New Mexico. He married Pearlie Ann Ethridge, July 11, 1937, in Kerrville, where they lived for years. He was an accomplished home builder throughout the area, taking extreme pride in his work. He is survived by his wife, Pearlie Ann of Tyler; daughter, Deborah Jean (Susie) Durio and husband, Roy, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son, Jay Travis Ward and wife, Barbara, of Galway, N.Y.; granddaughter, Samantha Durio Tork and husband, Markus, of Phoenix; grandson, Jason Ward and wife, Heather, of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; one great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and sister, Marjorie Ward Nicholson and husband, Sidney. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milford and Marcus Ward; three sisters, Etta Ward Carnes, Bulah Ward and Velma Ward Page. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
