Fanny was born in Fairview, Michigan on February 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Ezra and Mary (Knepp) Kauffman. She was raised and lived her whole life in Fairview as well. Fanny was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and crafts. Fanny will be remembered fondly as a "Friend of All".
Fanny is survived by her children: Wanda Killingbeck of Grand Rapids, MI; Amelia (Clayton) Kuepfer of Stratford, Ontario; Emerson (Leta) Gerber of Fairview, MI; Elmer (Jean) Gerber of Souderton, PA; Carol Kauffman of Mio, MI; Lucretia (Ron) Swartz of Au Gres, MI; Darlene Miller of Sturgis, MI; Laverne (Tammy) Gerber of Goshen, IN; and Randy (Gail) Gerber also of Goshen, IN. Fanny will be missed by 32 loving grandchildren and 33 dear great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Elmer Gerber; her second husband Ben Slaubaugh; her brothers Ira and Dave Kauffman; and her sister Anna Kauffman.
Visitation Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 3-5 and 6-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, Michigan; and again from 1 PM until the Funeral Service at 2 PM on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview with Pastor Eldon Krider officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
