George married Georgeanna Foss on December 13, 1857.
He was a veteran of the Civil War inlisting in Monroe, Wisconsin on August 13, 1862 in Co B, 31st Wisconsin Infantry, mustering out June 20,1865.
George was a member of The Grand Army of the Republic Post 40 in Ord, Valley, Nebraska.
On August 14, 1904 George passed away in Hurley, South Dakota.
