The Kingsland native lived in Savannah most of his life. He was employed by Union Camp Corp. for the past 42 years as a supervisor of construction warehouse. He was a member of South Gardens Christian Church and United Paperworkers International Union. Local 388.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Janis Truelove of Savannah; a son, Michael McKendree of Savannah; his mother, Mrs. Ruby Peeples McKendree of Savannah; a brother, Glen Edgar McKendree of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Helen McKendree Calhoun of Savannah; and two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife Doris Edmondson McKendree.
