Devota Elvanor Bemis Paulson aka Debbie

Resident of Cupertino

Passed away on Monday, November 28. 2011. Deb was born on July 23, 1929 in Junction City, Kansas. She moved to California in 1947 and has lived in Cupertino since 1963.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Paulson, mother Mildred Bemis and sister Elvera Mussell.

She is survived by her brother, Owen K. Bemis; her children: Gayla Althoff of Morgan Hill, Ca, Bradley Paulson of Redding, Ca, Darcy Stone and husband Stanley of Bend, Or and family, and Reed Paulson and wife Sonja of Salem Or; grandchildren: Madeline, Jessie, Jeff, Shelli, Amber, Samuel, and Thomas ; four step-children and their families; step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, as well as a longtime friend and traveling companion, Carolyn Goss of Arizona.

A loving mother and grandmother, she was truly generous and kind. Besides doting on her family, she loved to travel. as well as tinker in her garden and played bridge regularly for years with a group of friends. She was an adept business woman. managing multiple rental properties. When alive, her husband was a prominent realtor, and they were involved in numerous CAR activities, as well as fishing and traveling.

Her generosity and lack of pretension defined her and endeared her to all. She leaves the world a better place for her walk through it and is missed greatly already.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at her home of over 30 years on Saturday, December 17 for a memorial open house from 11am to 5pm.
