LAKELAND -- Mr. Donald H.
Metzger of Lakeland died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Nov. 4, 2003) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 91.
Born in Seneca County, Ohio, June 23, 1912, he came to Lakeland from North Fort Myers in July. He was an engineer for Nickel Plate Railroad. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles and Senior Friends of North Fort Myers.
Mr. Metzger is survived by his son, Donald L. Metzger, Lakeland, eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, 33823.
Burial will be in the Butternut Ridge Cemetery ( also known as Lay Cemetery )in Green Springs, Ohio.
