JOHN's MOTHER, "Sarah Jennings", was born in 1730 @ Hanover Co., VA. She was one of 10 Children. She died in 1782 @ Nottoway Co., VA.

Her Father was: "Col. William Henry Jennings" (1676-1775) who was born in England. He was the youngest son of 'Humphrey & Mary Milward Jennens' & was a British officer who came to Virginia to assist in the fight against the Indians.

Her Mother was: "Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam Jennings" (1704-1774) who was born @ Hanover Co., VA to 'James & Mary Pulliam'.

"Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam" was thought to have "perhaps" been Col. William Henry Jennings' 2nd. wife because of the 28-year-age-difference between them. They married on 1-24-1724 @ Hanover Co., VA.

~~John Hall Fowlkes (1782-1838) = He was named to honor Dicey's father, John Hall, Sr. Then, John Hall Fowlkes honored his 'brother Paschal' (who never married & had no children) by naming his son "Paschal Jennings Fowlkes" (1813-1882). This Paschal is the one who did the renovating & enlarging of the original Federal house called "HYDE PARK" where many generations of the FOWLKES FAMILY lived; originally built by JOHN A.FOWLKES (John Field Fowlkes' father).
~~Dicey Hall Fowlkes (1784-?) = named EXACTLY the same name as her mother!

Apparently, "Dicey Hall Fowlkes died"; & "John Field Fowlkes" REMARRIED.

His 2nd. WIFE was "Edith 'Edy' Jeffress" (1784-1810).

EDITH was born to "Thomas Jeffress, Sr. & Mary Jane Gunn Jeffress" @ Nottoway Co., VA. She was the last of 13 Children born to her parents. 4 of the 13 married "Fowlkes".

"John F. Fowlkes" MARRIED "Edith Jeffress" in 1799 when he was 54 & she was 15. So far, there are no known children from this marriage. She died 11 years later @ 26 in 1810 while he lived to 79 & died in 1824.

JOHN FIELD FOWLKES died in 1824 where he had been born in Nottoway Co., VA @ Hyde Park, his family's plantation, & is buried there with his 2 wives.

The plantation was originally called "Old Field" in his parents' & his lifetime.

I'm attaching photos of the "Fowlkes' Family Home" which was called "Hyde Park" where JOHN FIELD FOWLKES lived with his parents & siblings on the tobacco plantation. "Hyde Park" still stands today in 2014 after 2 1/2 centuries!
