TEXAS CITY - Augusta Elizabeth Evans, 94, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 1998, in Texas City. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 5, at
Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Ms. Evans was born October 1,1903, in Seadrift, Texas, and was a member of the Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, and a very talented needle worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband A.R. Evans in February, 1971, and her oldest son, David A. Evans in September, 1987.
She is survived by her children Mary Lou Hill of Texas City, William Edwin Evans and wife Gaye of Giddings, Texas, and Dorothy Jean Fuller and husband Fowler of Texas City. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gulf Coast, 8900 Emmett F. Lowry Expwy. Suite 102, Texas City, Texas 77591.
