Lena was the daughter of Lijbert and Voeksje Schilperoord Kamp.

Lena was married to Gijsbert Steenhoek April 23, 1835 in Oud-Beijerland, Zuid Holland, Netherlands.

They had their first child, Lijbert July 9, 1836. Lijbert died May 11, 1837.

Gijsbert died Mar 7, 1837 before his second son, Gijsbert G. was born.

Lena then married Simon Simons Dec 2, 1838 in Oud-Beijerland. Simon was born Oct 31, 1814 in Nieuw-Beijerland, Zuid Holland, Netherlands.

Lena and Simon had eleven children but only six lived to adulthood. They emigrated to America in 1856. Her son Gijsbert G. Steenhoek was then 19 years old.

First Reformed Church records show that Lena was buried at Graceland Cemetery in Pella, but no stone exists for her or Simon.
