In 1900, Anna Boudina Kwaak, aged 35, was living in Islip, NY, with husband, William Kwaak, aged 39, and children, Piter Kwaak, 16, Lendert Kwaak, 12, Cornelia Kwaak, 11, and Anna Kwaak, aged 8. Her husband, William, was shown to be an oysterman, as was her son, Peter.
Obituary - Anna B. Kwaak, wife of William Kwaak, died at her home on Rolstone avenue, West Sayville on Wednesday evening, of consumption, aged 43 years. Mrs. Kwaak was born in Holland, and came to this country 30 years ago, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Scherpenisse, the former of whom died just four weeks ago. The deceased has had a long fight for life, being ill for the past 15 years, and is survived by her husband and four children, Peter W., Leonard, Cornelia, and Anna Kwaak. She also leaves a mother, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted from the Christian Reformed Church on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. H.J. Haarsma officiating, and the remains will be interred in the Union cemetery.
