Note: According to genealogist Alice M. Smith, an expert on the Hart family, he was the youngest child of Abner Palmer Hart and Abigail Hunt. The Cooleys, in Genealogy of Early Settlers in Trenton and Ewing ... (1883), p. 96, do not list him in this family, and he is not mentioned in the 1854 will of Abner P. Hart. Unfortunately, no parents are named in Palmer's 1892 death certificate.
On the other hand, the Cooleys do list a Palmer Hart as a sibling of Albert P. Hart. (This is probably incorrect, and perhaps confused with this Palmer.) And a male born about 1819/20 can be accounted for in Abner P. Hart's household in pre-1850 census records.
Thus, Palmer is linked below, tentatively, as a child of Abner P. and Abigail (Hunt) Hart. Any information to confirm or disprove this identification would be greatly appreciated. -Joseph R. Klett
