Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - October 14, 1997. Obituary: Arnold Mauchley. Our beloved father and grandfather, Arnold Mauchley passed away peacefully October 12, 1997 at the age of 97. Born in Taylorsville, Utah on August 27, 1900, the last surviving child of Leonard and Mary Kropf Mauchley, he was the 13th of 14 children. He married his life-long sweetheart, Verna Gregory, April 9, 1926; later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 15, 1989, they were constant companions in life and he has waited eight long years to be reunited with her. Arnold lived most of his life in the Taylorsville area where he owned and operated a farm for years, later he was the custodian at the old Plymouth Elementary and Junior High School for almost 25 years. He will be remembered best for his good nature and wonderful sense of humor, and the wonderful garden he always grew and shared with his friends and family. He was a member of the LDS Church serving as a High Priest.

Arnold is survived by his three children, Ivan (Leila) Mauchley, Vern (Belva) Mauchley and Inez (Paul) Vanderlinden; 20 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the Sarah Daft Retirement Home and all associated with it and also the Holladay Healthcare Center for the care he received while he was there. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Redwood Memorial Chapel, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
