Born in Hanover Germany, Bernard Robben came to America in the 1840's, initially settling in St. Louis. He returned to Germany to marry Dorothy Kramer, then returned to America where he settled in Solano County, California. They were the parents of 7 sons and one daughter, all but one survived him. His died as the result of apoplexy. He left his family well-provided for.
