Waleryan Kowalczyk, husband of Mrs. Antonia (Smith) Kowalczyk of 452 Belleville Avenue, died yesterday at St Luke's Hospital following a heart attack.
Born in Wiskow, Poland, he came to New Bedford 36 years ago and was last employed as a weaver in the old Beacon Mill. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Survivors beside his widow are five sons, Czeslaw of Poland, Edward, Walter, Joseph, and John Henry of New Bedford; two daughters, Mrs. Stephanie Silvia of this city and Mrs. Stasia Caroline Blanchette of Springfield, seven grandchildren and one brother, Alexander Kowalczyk of Poland.
