Age 73, a generous volunteer and giving man, passed away at his home on December 18, 2012. Born on May 31, 1939 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin he was a graduate of both Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, and UW Madison. He had a rewarding career in insurance and real estate. Later in life he operated his own companies, Quiet Claims and Adams Realty.
Celebrating in the joy of giving, Dick contributed his talents to the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Parish, and St. John Nepomucene Church. For fun you would find Dick fishing, hunting, golfing or grilling; but his true passion was lending his glorious voice to the Good News Choir and the Appleton MacDowell Chorus.
Those who greeted him in heaven were his parents: Samuel and Otylia Adams; his sister: Irene "Sr. Lawrence"; and his infant brother: John. Remaining in his love are his sister: Margaret (Roger) Scott family, his former wife: Shirley Adams and their children: Kathy (John) Tomasovic family, Ryan (Stacey) Adams, Ann (Dean) Jansen family, Christie Braun and family. He also left behind his significant other: Jean Otis and her children: Tracy (Marc) Miller family, Craig (Amy) Otis family and Darrin (Jody) Otis family.
Friends and family may join us for a celebration of Dick's life on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. John Nepomucene Church, 323 Pine Street, Little Chute with Fr. James Hablewitz officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with mass at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
