Newton Earl Mann, 62, died Friday (Sept. 26, 2003) at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville, Ohio.
Born in May 21, 1941 in Dungannon, Va., he had been a Lake County resident for 32-1/2 years, living in Mentor Headlands, Ohio. He had previously lived in Dungannon, Va.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. Mann (nee Smiciklas); dear father of Newton E. Mann III (Lorie), Willoughby, Ohio, Sally A. Albright (Richard), Mentor Headlands, Ohio, Danny L. Mann (Amber), Mentor, Ohio, Brian Shermondt, Birmingham, Ala.; grandfather of Robbie, Doug, Justin, Nikki, Shawn, Paige, Peyton and Joshua; son of the late Newton E. and Maggie Marie Mann (nee Strong); brother of Susan Kidd, Atlanta, Ga., Ruth Collins (Paul), Gate City, Va., Dorothy Hill (Joseph), Eastlake, Ohio, Cary Mann (Patsy), Kingsport, Tenn., Janice Mellon (Paul), Mentor, Ohio, Danny Mann (Kathy), Dungannon, Va., Ronnie Mann (Karen), South Bend, Ind., Ricky Mann (Karen), Yuma, Va., Patsy Osborne (Orbie), Dungannon, Va., Dana Mann, Gate City, Va.; and uncle and great uncle of many.
He was a member of the St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor, Ohio, the Wickliffe Eagles, the American Legion Wickliffe, and past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid camper, NASCAR fan, and football fan. He was also an outdoorsman and hunter.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor, Ohio.
A funeral mass will be held Monday at the St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 LakeShore Blvd., Mentor, Ohio.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
