James William Hayes, age 73, of Halls passed away October 14, 2013 at UT Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer. Veteran of the US Army and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union #917. Preceded in death by parents Barton Clifford Hayes & Meldia Mae Hayes; loving and devoted wife of 32 years Dorothy Sharp Hayes. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Shon & Marty Hayes Daughter and son-in-law, Jamie & Gregg Jones Cherished grandchildren, William Dallan (Natalie Ellis Jennifer Hayes, Michael James Thomas Hayes and
Colby Jones Great-grandchildren: Easton Wade Ellis & Oakley Mae Ellis Brother: Jerry (Tessa) Hayes

Several nieces and nephews and his dog and faithful companion Shadow The family would like to extend a special thank you for the outstanding care and encouragement to Dr. Wahid Hanna and his precious staff Maci, Joni, Beverly and Amanda. In lieu of flowers we ask that contributions be made to the UT Cancer Institute in memory of James W. Hayes.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls chapel with funeral service to follow at 8. Rev. Bryan Wright officiating, burial Thursday, 2 pm at Indian Creek Baptist church in Jacksboro.
