Death of H. E. Blaser.

Our citizens of Garber and vicinity were startled and grieved, last Saturday evening to hear of the death of their fellow citizen E. H. Blaser. From the little he was able to communicate to his wife he was thrown from one of his horses that he had mounted to drive in a span from the fields to help his brother Albert with some farm work. After he was thrown he managed to walk to the house when he gradually sank into a deep sleep and insensibility.
Dr. McVicker, who was called says that his death resulted from contusion of the brain causing gradual but complete paralysis; that perhaps a blood vessel was ruptured which gradually produced a pressure necessary for paralysis. A mark upon the temple and severe bruises upon the face and head indicated that he must have been thus thrown. The effect of such a blow, the doctor says, is to cause nauseating; a tendency to throw up without straining and he was affected in this manner.
Mr. Blaser was so well known and so highly appreciated by our citizens that his death is like the loss of a brother and it really is. To tell the truth he was about as near perfect as it is possible for Omnipotence to mold man in human form and breath into him a life and soul. If all men were so kind and true we would be hailing with delight the "Millenial Dawn."
For these reasons that accident is not only an irreparable loss to his devoted wife and family of young children but to all the community. Mr. Blaser was in good circumstances and a model farmer. It has been the successful cultivation of the soil by such as he that has brought values of our farms up into the thousands and for this reason this quiet unassuming man has been most important in all that goes to make up a successful community.
