Hilda L. (Nemec) Hacking

New Bedford — Hilda L. (Nemec) Hacking, 79, formerly of Melville Towers, died Wednesday, May 17, 1989. She was the widow of Henry "Harry" Hacking and daughter of the late Norbert and Lily (Whittle) Nemec.

Died at St. Luke's Hospital

She was born in New Bedford and was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church. She was a hairdresser in New Rochelle, N.Y., and New Bedford for many years. She was also a manicurist at the New Bedford Hotel and worked at the Tabor Nursing Home for 14 years as a therapist.

For years, Mrs. Hacking made jewelry and specialized in the use of native seashore resources. She was a volunteer at the New bedford Glass Museum.

Survivors include two sisters, Ethel Potkay of Fairhaven and Ruby Delisolla of Medford; a brother, Frank Nemec of Florida; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street.
