Obituary for James Raymond Bailey, Sr. Published in The Paintsville Herald

James Raymond Bailey Sr., 61, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from an unfortunate accident while he was doing his favorite pasttime, riding Doc. He was born on July 12, 1943 in Paintsville, Kentucky the son of John and Sissie (Colvin) Bailey. He married Sharon M. Gragg on September 22, 1962 in Jackson, Ohio. He was employed with International-Navistar for over 42 years. Jim was also the owner of Bailey`s Rainbow Stable. Over the years he owned Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox Trotters and Spotted Jack Mules. He was a member of the Horseman Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed coon hunting. Jim loved all animals and truly loved his dog, Sue. Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon ; one daughter, LaVonna F. (Jeff) Graves of Cable ; two sons, Rick (Charlotte) Bailey of Urbana and Danny (Candy) Bailey of Botkins ; one brother, Vernon Bailey of Mechanicsburg ; three sisters, Fern Williams of Springfield, Drixel Gillian of Chillicothe and Mary Lou Cantrell of Kentucky ; 12 grandchildren, Steve, Summer, Brooke, Brittany, Kaylee, Hannah, Alyssa, Aaron, Austin, Tristan, Taylor and Gregg and severl nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by brothers, Herschel and Charles and sisters, Akice and LaVern. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Collins officiating. Burial will be Jenkins Chapel. July 3, 2005 Springfield, Ohio
