Mrs. Robert H. Alwine
Naomi F. Criswell Alwine, Black Rock Rd., Hanover RD 6, died Saturday evening at the Hanover General Hospital. She was 76.
Born in Adams County, she a daughter of the late George and Ada Nickey Criswell. Her husband, Robert Hoffheins Alwine, died in 1967.
She had been a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and Sunday School, was a member of the LCW and Young at Heart Club of St. Matthew’s, the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of World War I, a volunteer at Helping Hand and served as a Gray Lady at Hanover General Hospital.
Surviving family members include four children, Clair M. Alwine, Hanover RD 6; Stewart J. Alwine, Hanover RD 6; Mrs. Mack (Joyce) Caudill, 3 W. Granger St.; and Ronald E. Alwine, Hanover RD 6; 10 grandchildren; one great–granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. William (Mabert) Reichart, 750 E. Walnut St.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway. The Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Ruths will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 7–9 p.m.
Contributions in Mrs. Alwine’s name can be made to the St. Matthew building fund.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Kenneth, Edward Gregory and William Alwine, Robert Wildasin and Steven M. Goff.
