New Bedford — Private services will be held for Jadwiga (Potkay) Bessette, 72, of Sawyer Street, who died Saturday, January 20, 1990, after a long illness. She was the widow of Aldei U. Bessette and daughter of the late Stanley and Frances (Haberek) Potkay.
Born in New Bedford and a lifelong citizen of the city.
She died at Saint Luke's Hospital.
Mrs. Bessette was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. She was employed at the Wamsutta Mill as an inspector until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter Annette Daigle of New Bedford; a sister Jane Skypeck of New Bedford; a grandson and two great grandchildren.
