Harlan was a decorated World War II veteran, with the fighting 95th Division at the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Illinois Bell, after 42 years of service.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Geist; son, Stephen of Panama City Beach, FL; daughter, Lou Anne (Mark) Miller of West Milwaukee; grandchildren, Katie (Fred) Broschart of Beloit, WI; Sgt. Michael (Emily) Geist of Panama City Beach, FL (presently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom); and Laurel Geist of Panama City Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his brother, Harvey; and his parents, Frank and Emily.
Funeral Mass will be at Holy Angels Church, Tuesday, June 21st at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506. The Rev. Victor Alcazar will officiate and interment will follow at Mt Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Holy Angels Parish.
