James A. Snell, 77, of Columbia died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Boone
Hospital Center.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 14, at Memorial Park Cemetery
with the Rev. Oliver Langmade officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 13, at Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Snell was born May 11, 1920, in Boone County to Homer and Ora Dodson
Snell.
He married Dorothy Douglass on July 31, 1939, in Linn Creek, and she preceded
him in death.
He graduated from Hickman High School and was an Army Air Forces veteran of
World War II. He was employed with the city of Columbia for 42 year, retiring
in 1980 as utilities plant manager. He was a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include two sons, Kevan Snell of Columbia and James Snell of
Fordland; four sisters, Edith Bartmess, Katie Moore and Norma Robb, all of
Columbia, and Mary Koeber of Warsaw, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
