Douglas Dwight Allison, age 86, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998 at Frances Marion Manor Nursing Home. He lived and farmed in Red Rock Cove for more than 70 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Allison. Survivors include one son, William Thomas Allison of Ford; one daughter, Mary Roark of Tannersville; six grandchildren, Angela Chappell, Martin Allison, Steven Allison, William Allison Jr., Lesley (Roark) Blevins and Michael Frye; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert Williams officiating. Burial was in Allison Family Cemetery. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
