Well Known Business man of Staples Called to his Reward Sunday.
John C. Greeno, a well known business man of Staples, passed away Sunday, April 21 as the result of apoplexy. He was stricken Saturday evening and his death occurred the following morning.
Mr. Greeno had been a resident of Staples for about ten years. He was born in Winona county, this state, and before moving to Staples he lived for 12 years in Dakota. During his residence in Staples he was engaged in the livery business and also followed mercantile pursuits, being connected with Paul Read's grocery at the time of his death. He married into the Dower family, his wife being formerly Miss Edith Dower, who, together with three children, two boys and one girl, survive him. The deceased was also a brother of E.E. Greeno, the well known Staples banker and politician.
Mr. Greeno was a man of sterling character and he enjoyed to the fullest measure the confidence and esteem of the community in which he resided. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church. Rev. Lafayette Dodds officiating.
