Jack L. Swihart, 59, of Lexington Avenue, died about 6:35 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital, after an illness. Mr. Swihart was employed by the International Association of Heat & Frost Asbestos Workers Local 75 for 15 years. He was born Nov. 24, 1930, in St. Joseph County and was a lifelong area resident. On May 24, 1949, he married Patricia Lee Harman of South Bend. She passed away on February 28, 1953 in a car accident.

On Feb. 20, 1956 and again on Feb. 20, 1971, in South Bend, he married Rosemary Castleman. She survives, along with two sons, Dirk L. of Edwardsburg and Kevin L. of South Bend; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Phyllis Kalb, Lois Fujawa, and Joyce Michaels, all of South Bend. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Buchanan.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be at Mouth Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
