Civil War service. Private, Company B, 20th New York State Militia, April - August, 1861. Private and sergeant, Companies B & K, 156th New York State Volunteer Infantry. While bearing the colors of his regiment, Sergeant Brink was wounded in the leg and arm, during the Battle of Winchester on September 19, 1864. Served 1861-1865.
Commissioned, not mustered, as 1st lieutenant, July 31, 1865.
