Dot attended the Oakland Methodist church. She was well known in and about Oakland as she and her husband, Ralph, purchased Ken's Hot Dog Stand in Oakland in 1957 and operated it under the name Ralph and Dot's Coffee Pot. It was located on the corner of Fairfield Street and Dunn Street coming in to Oakland. They later moved the restaurant to Main Street in Oakland. When Ralph sold the business and retired, Dot went to work at the Oakland Korner Store, which her son, Ronald, and his wife, Louise, owned and operated until 1980.Ralph and Dot fully retired in 1980 and moved to their new house on Ten Lots Road in Oakland. Dot enjoyed cooking and was well known for her delicious pies. She loved making patchwork quilts for her family. For many years she and Ralph volunteered at the United Methodist Church fundraising suppers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, to whom she was married for almost 60 years; her second husband, Wayne Small, to whom she was married for five years; her eldest son, Lowell; a granddaughter, Megan Perry; a brother, Ellsworth; and sisters Charlotte, Pauline, Arlene, and Phyllis.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Shirley, wife of the late Lowell Fenlason; sons Ronald Fenlason and his wife, Louise, and John Fenlason and his wife, Esther, all of Oakland; a daughter, Rosalie Perry and her husband, Robin, of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother, Robert Flye of Clinton; two sisters, Florence Alexander and Virginia Giroux, both of Benton; stepson-in-law, Dale Small and his wife, Charlotte, of Kittery; and stepson-in-law David Small and his wife, Kathy, of Augusta. Dot is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. (Morning Sentinel 6/7/2007)
