St. Louis resident Mark Alan Whitley, 44, died Saturday, Sept. 24, in Oklahoma City.
He was born July 5, 1961, in Shawnee to Robert Lee and Belva Jean (Brown) Whitley. He was reared in Pearson.

He attended St. Louis grade school and high school at Asher and Maud. He graduated from Maud High School in 1979. He then attended St. Gregory's College, Seminole Junior College and East Central University.

In April 1988, he married Debra Hoover in Shawnee.

He owned and operated One Stop Kountry Store at the McComb Y for the past 18 years.

He enjoyed being a father to his daughter and was an avid coin collector.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Whitley of the home; his daughter, Megan Whitley of the home; his parents, Robert and Belva Whitley of Pearson; one sister and brother-in-law, Jana and Russ Skinner of Norman; one niece, Maris Skinner of Norman; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Peck, the Rev. Darrell Witten and the Rev. William Browning officiating. Burial will follow at the Romulus Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
