Elizabeth, called Betsy by her father, William Pryor, came to Texas when she was two year old. Her father was one of the Old 300, a colonist of Stephen F. Austin. She married William Roberts in 1834 at age 12. William was the son of Noel F Roberts who married Elizabeth's sister Harriet in 1826. The Roberts family were also members of the Old 300. William and Elizabeth had 4 children, Churchill Fulshear Roberts born 1836; James Calhoun Roberts born in 1838, Elizabeth Roberts born 1840 who married Joseph C Greer and William Taylor Roberts born 1847.
