CHESTER F. BECKER
(1918 - 2009)

Chester F. Becker, age 91, formerly of 1130 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1918, in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Mary (Budysz) Becker. Chester was a machinist with the United States Army Air Corps serving from 1942 to 1945. He was employed as a carpet installer at Shimek's Furniture, Manitowoc. Chester was a member of the AmVets Post No. 99, where he celebrated 25 years as their organization's recording secretary and the Eagles Club of Manitowoc.

Survivors include three sisters: Esther Bertler, Sophia Bies and Blanche Neuser, all of Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Emily Becker, Frances Becker, Josie Jankowski and Agnes Neuser; and six brothers: Richard, Frank, Alex, Stanley, Joseph and Hilary Becker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and burial of the cremated remains will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
