Ann Shirley Holder Council is the daughter of the late James Troy Holder and Samantha Bennett Holder. She attended Cook County High School and on March 22, 1963, Ms. Holder wed Mr. Kenneth Ray Council at the John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital Chapel, Thomasville.

Throughout her life, Ann was a surgical tech, kindergarten teacher and Co-Founder of Rayann's Christian Bookstore. She was a member of several Garden Clubs and the Pilot Club. She was a Pink Lady, Hospice Volunteer and Docent at Pebble Hill Plantation and later the Docent Coordinator. She was most-importantly a Homemaker!

Ann was an encourager to all those she knew and enjoyed giving gifts and sending cards. She touched many lives in her gentle, quiet way. She was a faithful and supportive wife for over 50 years to her husband and a loving mother to her two children. After battling with multiple health issues for numerous years, she is now at peace and free from suffering. She was a true Christian lady and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors to cherish her memory include her husband Kenneth Ray Council; daughter Carla Council Crosby (Michael); son Colonel Kenneth R. Council, Jr. (Dorianna).

She was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Margaret Baldree, Bobby Holder, Billy Holder, and Mary Helen Edwards.
