Neil William Stroesenreuther Baraboo Neil William Stroesenreuther, age 82, of Baraboo formerly of Lansing, MI died on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at St. Clare Hospice House. Neil, son of John and Fay (Hutchinson) Stroesenreuther was born May 23, 1931 in New London. On Oct. 18, 1958 he was united in marriage to Jeannette Patno in Blue Island, Ill. Neil was a soil scientist with the USDA in Lansing, Mich. from which he retired in 1989. He proudly served in the US Navy for 38 years and retired with the rank of CW04 after serving time in Korea. Neil was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Baraboo as well as St. John's Lutheran Church and Shepherd of the Hills in Lansing. In his free time, Neil enjoyed participating in the Baraboo Senior Center. He had a great passion for watching sports, including the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers and University of Michigan athletics. Survivors include, his children, Patricia (Martin) Strobel of Baraboo, James (Veronica) Stroesenreuther of Tarzana, CA; grandchildren, Jedidiah, Emma, Abigail and Elizabeth Strobel all of Baraboo, and Jeffrey Stroesenreuther of Tarzana, CA; he is further survived by his sister-in-law, Alice Stroesenreuther of Waupaca as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Jean; three brothers, Leo, George and Myrlon as well as one sister, Estella. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at 4 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Carl Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Baraboo Veteran's Honor Guard following the service. Neil's final resting place will be next to his wife at Deep Dale Cemetery in Lansing. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
