John Maurice Long, 68, Marion, died at 6:25 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Wells County, Indiana to the late John and Dorothy (Atkinson) Long, Sr.. He married Patricia Carter on June 7, 1964. She survives.
He retired from the Grant County Highway Department where he worked as a road foreman. John was a member of Healing Heart Church of God where he served as a board member and sang in the choir. He loved God and his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, coon hunting and rabbit hunting. John was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan, I.U and L.A. Dodgers fan.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 4-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
