JOHN N. ANDREW WAS A WIDELY KNOWN FARMER
John N. Andrew, one of the best known farmers of South Franklin township, was found dead this morning at his home. It is presumed that he was stricken just after he had gone to his room last night, as he had not gone to bed, but was lying across the bed. He had been in his usual health yesterday. He would have been 78 years old on Friday of this week.

Mr. Andrew was a son of Jesse Andrew, and was born in Morris township, Green county. He had spent the great part of his life in South Franklin township. He first lived on a farm near Prosperity, and later purchased the Weir farm and other parcels of land, until at the time of his death he owned between 20 and 300 acres of land. He had been a successful farmer. He married when a young man to Permelia Patterson, who was a daughter of the late J. Wilson Patterson, a well known farmer in South Franklin township. Mrs. Andrew died about a year ago.

Mr. Andrew was formerly a member of the church at Old Concord, but for many years had held membership in the Bethel Presbyterian church at Van Buren.
