He worked for the Army and served at Fort Chaffee as an education officer and was director of education at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, where he served for 20 years and upon retirement was presented with the Department of the Air Force Civilian Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding services rendered. He was the widower of Clarine Bell.
Funeral was held at 2 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his three daughters, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
