Patrick (Pat) Lanier Cothern
(September 29, 1978 - October 7, 2013)

Patrick (Pat) Lanier Cothern, age 35, of Nicholls died suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Royd Leon "Stoney" Cothern and Myrtis Calhoun Cothern and was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Lee Cothern. Patrick attended Southside Church of God and Campground United Methodist Church and worked with CSX Railroad the past 12 months.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Tina Marie Lewis Cothern, three sons, Dylan Lewis Cothern, Cody Lanier Cothern and Cole Lee Cothern, a brother, D.L. Cothern and wife Anna Marie all of Alma and two sisters, Joyce Harrell of Broxton and Ruby Deal of St. Simons Island.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9th at 11:00 AM at Campground United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Carver and Rev. Andy Capshaw officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Greg & Randy Lewis, Billy Taylor, Ricky Lomax, Rusty Mims, Doc & Eli Hayes and Ryan Miles. Honorary pallbearers will be; Roger Johnson, Mayo Mims, Johnny Mack Taylor, Billy Varnadore, Employee's of CSX, David Jowers, Wayne & Shane Peacock, Members of Southside Church of God, & Campground United Methodist and all others in attendance.
