Abshear, William, 64, of Evansdale Avenue, husband of Emma Frances Burton Abshear, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in his home. Mr. Abshear was born January 6, 1942, in Owsley County, the son of Arch and Elsie Jane Sizemore Abshear. He was a builder and worked for Air Tite Siding Company. He was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his wife, Mr. Abshear is survived by: three daughters,
Nancy Lee Abshear Sparks (Daryell), Mary Ann Abshear Horn and Emma Lou Abshear Lewis, all of Richmond; four brothers, Herman Abshear, Dallas Abshear, Luther Abshear and James Abshear, all of Richmond; two sisters, Helen Abshear Rogers and Emma Lou Abshear Ray, both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Cristy Machelle Sparks, William Daryell Sparks (Amy), Elizabeth Ann Horn, Joshua Scott Horn and Matthew Micah Lewis; as well as, three great-grandchildren, Jacob Sparks, Madison Sparks and Nancy Sparks. Mr. Abshear was preceded in death by one
daughter, Flora Alice Abshear, and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in
Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include William Daryell Sparks, Denny
Lee McPherson, Joshua Scott Horn, Michael Edward Abshear, Lewis Rogers and Floyd Lee Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Lowery.
