Services for Georgie Mathis, 80, Austin, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler Starlight Chapel. The Rev. Garland Hughes will officiate.

Burial will be at Portales Cemetery. Wheeler Mortuary of Portales is handling arrangements.

Mathis died Wednesday, Aug. 4, in Austin. She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Old Glory, Texas. She grew up in Old Glory and moved to Imperial Valley, Calif., in 1933. In 1946, she moved to Portales where she lived until 1976. She then moved to Austin to be near her children.

Survivors include five sons, Walter Mathis, Lancaster, Texas, Jerry Mathis, Las Vegas, Nev., Glen Mathis, Denaire, Calif., Melvin Mathis, Spicewood, Texas, and Bob Mathis, Portales; three daughters, Alene Cunningham, Huffan, Texas, Thurzia Corker, Austin, and Linda Smith, Batrop, Texas; four sisters; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Family members will serve as casket bearers.
