Daughter of Alexander and Sarah Stroud

Rosie Pearl Stroud married Benjamin J. Asling on July 16, 1908 in Dickinson county, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1918.

Benjamin Joseph and Rosie Pearl Azling moved to New Mexico in December 1909. Ben was a carpenter. He was killed in a farm accident in Kansas in July 1918. Rosie and their 4 children moved to Nara Visa and lived with her mother. She married E.B. Shelton and moved to Oklahoma. When he died in 1957 she moved back to Nara Visa where she stayed with 2 of her children, Sarah and Tom. She passed away July 18, 1891 at the age of 97 yrs and 8 mos. She is buried in the Amistad Cemetery beside her father. She was a Christian and an active member of the Baptist Church for 85 years. She taught school and was an accomplished quilter and crocheter. Of her children, Earnest Alexander was killed in World War II and is buried in the Military Cemetery in Epinal, France. Owen Harvy and his wife moved to California. Thomas James and his wife lived at Nara Visa.

Her second husband was Edward B. Shelton.
