Mary Frances Duffie died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Saint Francis Hospital. She was born July 6th, 1924 in Wrens, Georgia to Oliver William Dodd and Miriam E. Hammett Dodd. Mary was the devoted wife of Cecil Lankford Duffie, who she married in 1946. They later founded Duffie Paint Company, where she served as vice-president and which theyoperated together until several years prior to his death in 1990. Mary was a charter member of Advent United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sister Helen.
Surviving are her 3 sons: Cecil, Jr. and wife Robin of Greenville; Robert Duffie and wife Pam of Marietta; Boyce Duffie and his wife Susan of Durham, NC. She is also survived by her sister Dot. Mary has 6 grandchildren: Patrick, Christopher, Aaron, Alex; 3 step-grandchildren: Laurie Combs, Ray Hart and Anna Goodnough. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren: Caroline and Madison Combs and Zoey Lahrs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Mary Frances Duffie to Advent United Methodist Church of Simpsonville, SC or the American Heart Association .
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 2 PM at Graceland East Cemetery, 2206 Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville, SC
