Note that the "jr" appears to be for a father and son and not because they carry the same middle name.

John jr., 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ebeling, died in a sanitarium in Norfolk early last evening [Friday]. He died from skull, chest and internal injuries he received noon Friday in a car in which he was riding with his brother and sister was struck by a C. and N. W. motor at the crossing at Seventh street and Omaha Ave. His older brother and sister are recovering from their injuries which are not serious. The children had taken their mother to work and were returning home. Melvin driving the car said that he did not see or hear the motor until he was practically on top of the tracks. He attempted to turn the car away from the tracks, but failed, as the motor struck it. The southbound motor of the Northwester struck the car causing it to turn over several times and throwing the occupants clear of the wreckage. The motor, which had stopped before the second coach had cleared the crossing was going very slowly at the time. He was survived by his parents, 1 brother Melvin age 17, 1 sister Vivian age 9. The funeral will be held Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran church with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.
