Ruth Scoggin Covington, 76, of Discovery Program at High Point Place, formerly of 1107-F Burchcrest Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at High Point Regional Health System.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, with Pastor John Mack officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mrs. Covington was a native and lifelong resident of Guilford County, and the daughter of the late Annie Weeks Scoggin Olson and the late Floyd Fabin Scoggin. She was retired as a business manager for Dr. R.T. Copeland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Green Covington Sr., in February 2002.
Mrs. Covington is survived by three sons, Edward Green Covington Jr. of Pleasant Garden, John Steven Covington of Chesapeake, Va., and Joseph Fabin Covington of Elon; one daughter, Laine Covington Ruehle, of High Point; two sisters, Inez Scoggin Greeson of Greensboro and Blonnie Scoggin Causey of Stokesdale; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
